We will not have Mr Tim or LaBelle this year, while we just love them both; we are trying to reduce costs for you, to allow more people the ability to compete. They will both be at the 08/09 NES Nationals and the 2008 Miss & Mr Elegance Pageant; we are trying to reduce costs for you, to allow more people the ability to compete.

11 Age Divisions or Glitz & NATURAL (Age as of March 1st) plus a 30 day grace

EVENTS                                          

BEAUTY– In each age Natural will all go first, then Glitz

Compete on the Glitz side – full glitz dresses are allowed, falls, flippers, full H/M, tanning – you name it

Compete on the Natural side – no full glitz dresses (off the rack, flower girl, prom style, baby dolls) anything NOT fully glitzed up – some dresses off the rack even have some rhinestones and that is OK, it cannot be a full blown pageant glitz dress. Makeup for ages 11&under can be NOTHING more clear lip gloss. No mascara, no blush, no foundation/bronzer, no eye shadow. This will be strictly enforced i.e. Cotton swab tests before going on stage. 1 full point PER judge will be deducted if rules not followed. Stage lighting will be subtle so your child’s natural beauty will shine through. . Ages 12&up can wear makeup as they would on a normal basis. No one on the Natural side regardless of the age can wear flippers, fake eye lashes or falls/wiglets. If you have extensions glued or stitched in and it is part of your everyday normal wear then that is acceptable, but we would assume your photos would also have this look. They cannot be extensions clipped in for the weekend. There is NO fake tanning allowed on the natural side.  

OPTIONALS (Every contestant competes in Beauty and at least 2 optionals-YOUR CHOICE) If you choose to compete in extra optional events, only your two highest scores from the optionals will be used. Only 1 of those two optional events used can be a photo event – you may enter multiple photo events but only use the score from one towards your Supreme total. You can place in all events and multiple photo events.

Outfit of Choice (anything goes – Proam/Sportswear, Western, Swim etc.)

Glitz Headshot – all touch ups allowed

Natural headshot – no touch ups allowed except stray hairs and blemishes

Talent – Glitz and Natural combined for this one event

All contestants will compete in Beauty & at least 2 optionals, unless you are competing for the Beauty title ONLY. If you choose to compete in extra optional events, only your two highest scores from the optionals will be used. Only 1 of those two optional events used can be a photo event – you may enter multiple photo events but only use the score from one. EVERYONE will be recognized during awards!!!

2 AMERICA’S SWEETHEART ULITMATE GRAND SUPREMES (1 Glitz & 1 Natural)

The contestant competing in Glitz and the contestant competing in Natural with the highest combined scores from Beauty and their highest scoring two optionals (only 1 photo) will be crowned an Ultimate Grand Supremes. They will EACH receive a $1000 bond, Custom Sweetheart Crown, satin embroidered sash and a HUGE basket full of gifts. If numbers are high, the dollar amount may be increased.

6 AMERICA’S SWEETHEART OVERALL GRAND SUPREMES (3 Glitz & 2 Natural)

22 AMERICA’S SWEETHEART AGE DIV SUPREMES  (10 Glitz & 10 Natural + Miss & Ms)

The contestant age division with the highest combined scores from Beauty and their highest scoring two optionals (only 1 photo) will be crowned an Age Div Supreme. They will EACH receive a $250 bond, Custom Sweetheart Crown, satin embroidered sash and large gifts. (Ultimate & Grand Supremes are bumped OUT)

2 AMERICA’S SWEETHEART GRAND AMBASSADORS (1 Glitz & 1 Natural)

We will crown three Grand Ambassadors. They will be chosen by the director, staff & royalty based on sportsmanship, friendliness, competitiveness just an all around good person. Someone we would be proud to have represent the America’s Sweetheart system. They will each receive a Custom Sweetheart crown embroidered sash and gift. The Grand Ambassadors have the option next year to hostess or recompete. (All Grands and Supremes are bumped OUT)   

22 AMERICA’S SWEETHEART BEAUTY WINNERS (10 Glitz & 10 Natural + Miss & and Ms)

We will crown a Beauty winner in each of the fourteen age divisions. They will each receive a crown, sash and gift. (All Supremes and Grand Ambassadors bumped out).

2 OVERALL TALENT TITLES

Each receive a LARGE crown, satin embroidered sash and a $250 bond.

5 TALENT TITLES (4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15 & 16up)

Each receive a crown, satin embroidered sash and gift (Overall Talent bumped out)

EVENT WINNERS

Event winners and runner-ups in each age division for each event will be recognized and get a chance to head to the America’s Sweetheart shopping table. – NO BUMPING

2 COVERMODELS (1 Glitz & 1 Natural)

Cover Model is totally separate and the Glitz winner will be displayed on the front cover of the program book in color and the Natural winner will be displayed on the back cover of the program book in color. Runner-ups will appear inside the program book. Cover Model is typically a headshot. Winners will receive a custom Sweetheart crown, satin embroidered sash and gift. This photo should be a headshot! NATURAL= NO TOUCH-UPS (except stray hair or blemish).  Can be emailed, but send large - PHOTOS DUE: 03/14 no bumping

2 PRINTMODELS (1 Glitz & 1 Natural)

Print is totally separate and the Glitz winner will be displayed on the inside front cover of the program book and the Natural winner will be displayed on the inside back cover of the program book. Runner-ups will appear inside the program book. Print Model is typically a portfolio look. We are looking for more Natural situations not totally cut out and pasted situations that are not realistic. = NO TOUCH-UPS (except stray hair or blemish).  Winners will receive a custom Sweetheart crown, satin embroidered sash and gift. HOSTESS

The contestant that sells the most ad pages will be crowned the hostess. She will receive a custom Sweetheart crown, satin embroidered sash and gift!! – NO BUMPING

 FRIENDSHIP QUEEN  

The contestant that refers the most new contestants to the pageant will be crowned the Friendship Queen. She will receive a custom Sweetheart crown, satin embroidered sash and gift!!  We will deduct $25 per new contestant referred.

SWEETHEART PARTY

On Saturday evening, we will have our America’s Sweetheart Party – The party is FREE to all contestants, families and guests of America’s Sweetheart. DJ Boppers will be hostessing the party. They are an interactive DJ company that plays games with everyone, teaches and leads the line dances and more.  We will also have our “Make a New Friend Grab Bag Exchange”. If you would like to participate in the “Make a new friend gift exchange, please bring a new wrapped gift (age div appropriate) put your name and address inside the gift. Gift should be $15 value. Please remember to get something you would like to receive. There is nothing worse than having a child bring a $15 value gift, excited to receive something similar and end up disappointed. Come dressed in your favorite PJ’s & slippers and get ready to have FUN..

HOST HOTEL

Our new hotel is the Crowne Plaza-Enfield/Springfield CT. It is just a few exits from Bradley International Airport and has 24hr free shuttle however, you need to reserve the shuttle through the hotel ahead of time. It’s a beautiful hotel with a swimming pool, exercise room, game room and many restaurants near by including a mall just 1 exit away (less then 1 mile). The hotel will shuttle to the mall for those that fly in. For those driving it’s right off the highway (I91). We have a group rate of $99 for the America’s Sweetheart Pageant (you MUST mention you are with the America’s Sweetheart Pageant). The group rate is limited, so book early, you can always cancel!! You must reserve any cots, cribs or fridges in advance!!! PHONE 1-860-741-2211 before 3/6. THEY WILL NOT CHANGE RATES AFTER THE BLOCK HAS EXPIRED – BOOK EARLY, YOU CAN ALWAYS CANCEL

RETURNING ROYALTY

Royalty that returns and hostesses for the weekend will receive a chair as a Thank You gift from America’s Sweetheart for taking the time to come hostess. These are not gifts for winning a title but for returning and hostessing!!  (Ultimates, Grand Supremes, Age Div Supremes, Hostess & Grand Ambassadors are eligible to hostess, sorry but we must limit hostessing to these titles). 2007 Ultimates and Grands can only recompete on the Natural side, but cannot come as a Queen and compete; it’s 1 or the other.

TICKETS

For everyone’s safety, NO ONE will be allowed in the ballroom without a ticket, NO EXCEPTIONS (Each contestant receives 1 admission pass with their registration fee) EVERYONE MUST EMAIL A PHOTO FOR THEIR BADGE& THE PROGRAM BOOK by 3/15

JUDGING

We use lots of judges and will throw out the low score for each contestant for each event. This means no one judge can make a contestant win or loose.

AWARDS

Attire for awards will be crowning attire. You may wear your Beauty attire or a crowning outfit

RULES/REGULATIONS

1. All judges’ decisions are FINAL!

2. Good sportsmanship is required at all times. Failure to show good sportsmanship (including parents & guests) will result in disqualification of the contestant without a refund and forfeiture of any awards received.

3. Do NOT call and ask WHO will be competing, we will NOT tell you and we do not give out numbers.

4. Entry fees are non refundable if you pull out-Credit to a future NES/America’s Sweetheart pageant will be given. If something were to happen that the pageant got cancelled (hasn’t happened yet) a full refund will be given.

5. Entrant gives the NES/America’s Sweetheart pageant director(s) the right to use his/her name and photo for publicity purposes.

6. We will not be judging the contestants attire itself, but the contestants overall appearance in her attire. Your appearance means grooming, fit, style and color for your age.

7. The director has the right to refuse entry of any contestant or admission to the ballroom of any parent/guest, as this is a private function.

8. The director/staff may request proof of date of birth at any time, please come to the pageant with a copy of the contestant’s birth certificate.

9. By signing the application you affirm that all information is true and correct, including date of birth and that you have read and understand all the rules/guidelines. You also understand that the pageant or anyone connected with this pageant including the hotel is not responsible for loss or injury incurred at or in travel to and from the pageant.

11. If you sign up for an event, and decide you do not want to do it, you cannot receive a refund for that event unless the change has been made by the 03/24 deadline. You may add events at the door or swap an event but you cannot subtract any as we do have bills to pay for the pageant and need to know what amounts we are expecting in.
